What to say, and how to say it...

The last few weeks I have been trying work out how to phrase things regarding the babies. Every time I talk about them, or a future with them, its like I have to include little lines such as 'if it happens' -'if it works out this time'-'hopefully if..' It is kind of tiring, but after such major disapointments, I find it so hard to chat in a fully positive tone. Hopefully one day soon...

We had our next set of scans which contained a little scare (read:OMG somethings wrong=total & complete meltdown) But after calming down and reassessment of the situation-a small internal bleed-we are staying positive that its fairly common and does not mean we will have to re-live our nightmare all over again. Our SM is not in the hospital which does indicate the situation is not of a serious nature. Everything is crossed for things to stay stable. Best Wishes to all...

First online photos...

Introducing Twin 1 & Twin 2! Things are going along to plan and we are both happy and relieved to have got the next set of scans and reports last night showing all is well. Each set of tests are so eagerly awaited. Some of the marker tests have been carried out showing no signs of any obvious problems with our little ones. The next scans should be in about two weeks. Many thanks to our surrogate mother, our doctor and the team all helping to make our dreams come true.

Measurements...

Our latests scans show things are going along well. Our little ones are measuring at CRLs of 31mm with nice strong heart rates. We still have that feeling that this can all be taken away in an instant, with our previous experiences, we cant help but feel so scared (all the time). Each time my phone rings in the later evening, I dread it may be our doctor delivering bad news. But I guess the further along we go, the more stable we will feel things are.

Meanwhile, we will try and keep busy. We have a family engagement to celebrate next weekend, so will look forward to that. Had a wonderful girls night out last night, dancing late into the evening. Going to try out my kareoke skills at our local bar tonight-daggy I know-but so much fun, and with a very encouraging audience, no real skill is required!

Best wishes to all & fond thoughts to our special lady carrying our babies. Thank You.

Week Nine (Yeah!)

Time seems to be moving along slowly, but steadily and we are at week nine. We will probably feel slightly more comfortable sometime after week 16 if no complications become evident before then. But like most of us on this journey, the relief probably wont be until arriving safely and soundly back home in early 2012 if all is well.

This weekend was spent seeing family and friends. Its funny how each outing brings out our questions and thoughts of what next year will hopefully bring. Could we bring the babies here?..or here?.. that will be easy (?)-way too hard (?)-dont even think about it (!!)

We cant wait to find out...we are so ready to become parents :)

Cruising Along...

As before...its so far, so good!

We have seen the scan of our little embryos and they have good heartbeats and growth, all within normal ranges, so we are hoping things stay on track for our twin pregnancy to go 'all the way' this time. We are anxious and nervous of course, but after our experiences its totally expected! We do have that tinge of excitement, that hope that this will be our time.

In the meantime, all we can do is cruise along....all the while sending our best wishes over-seas to our wonderful surrogate mother, our little ones and everyone who is doing their best to help us achieve our dream.

Updates & Results...(Yes Please!)

Now is the time we anxiously await updates and results. So far our pregnancy sacs have been seen and we eagerly hope the next set of scans will show our embryo/s as well. At this delicate stage we try to be prepared for any outcome, but we REALLY hope it will work out for us this time. We continue to send all our positive thoughts over to our lovely surrogate mother and our little one/s too. So far, so good...

Positive News !!

Hooray!! We got news that our lovely sm is most definately pregnant at this time :))
As before, its very early days, but we are on the right road again. With a moderately high beta value we may be looking at a twin pregnancy, tests in the next few weeks will give us more news.
We are so happy to be at this point again. Thanks for all the support. Will keep you updated. B & SJ xx
